Career Development and Advancement

Career Services for AICPA Students
AICPA and its University partners see it as an integral part of the MA Programs to support and assist our students in pursuing their chosen career path and to secure their desired career placement. In fact, the professional success of each of our students in pursuing their careers is the highest priority AICPA and its University partners. In the context of the current and ongoing deep financial crisis, the Academy for Cultural Diplomacy takes the initiative to endeavor that our students will be able to use their academic and professional experience here and to secure their desired career placement upon their graduation.

Therefore, throughout the course of the MA program, students are guided with specialized advice and support in order to cultivate professional development projects that will prepare them for their future careers. This professional guidance includes incorporating additional activities, projects, and partners into the students' studies in order to give them the relevant academic and professional experience that they will need for their career, as well as the relevant contacts and relationships that will assist them in securing the careers of their choice. The Academy uses its extensive networks and international partners located around the world in order to support the students in the development of their careers and to provide them with the maximum amount of opportunities to build professional relationships and gain professional experience parallel to their studies.

Our focus on professional development furthermore allows students to apply their skills and gain career-oriented work experience in international institutions, government, businesses, media, and non-governmental organizations. This degree goes beyond learning theoretical perspectives by putting into practice the studies in a framework of a professional working environment. This methodology places a high emphasis of strategic focus on professional development, which gives students a considerable advantage in the labor market when applying for and competing for jobs and professional opportunities.

Center for Entrepreneurship
A paramount aim of the AICPA is to promote the importance of cultural diplomacy throughout society, creating a network of individuals and groups actively involved in this field. Initiatives and professional projects are a cornerstone of this philosophy. By facilitating and supporting these Initiatives, the AICPA enables the principles of cultural diplomacy to spread beyond the parameters of the classroom to civil society, individuals and groups around the world.

The AICPA Center for Entrepreneurship therefore offers students support for the development of their future careers in general, as well as enabling students to convert their ideas into a successful innovation, through initiating, implementing, and fundraising for initiatives, professional projects and programs, which can be implemented both during and after their studies.

These Entrepreneurial activities  provide students both with valuable experience that can be leveraged in their careers up until the opportunity to start their own company or organization, and thereby creating their own career.

Volunteering Program
The methodology of AICPA Studies provides students with the opportunity to develop interpersonal skills and inter-cultural experiences by encouraging participation in a variety of volunteering projects around the community, here in Berlin. Berlin is a diverse and vibrant city, and taking part in our volunteer program allows students to meet people from all walks of life and gain a deeper understanding of the various social problems still affecting this fast paced urban environment. By volunteering, students can take an active role in tackling these problems whilst being rewarded with a personal sense of achievement through their hard and well appreciated work.

Why the AICPA believes volunteering is of the utmost importance
Volunteering allows students to develop an independent, practical skill set that they would otherwise be unable to acquire through solely academic studies. With the global job market becoming increasingly difficult to access, and positions within both the public and private sector becoming increasingly more competitive, graduates are constantly looking for ways to enhance their CVs and demonstrate to potential employers that they have what it takes to go that extra mile and that they are interested and experience “giving” to society, rather than just “taking.” The CCDS believes that volunteering makes a candidate stand out by showing their dedication and versatility as a supplement to strengthen their academic qualifications.

Statistics show that it is not a lack of food that leads to famine in many parts of the world, but rather poor and unequal distribution. With this in mind, has been a registered charity since 1993 and its mission is to distribute food, which might otherwise go to waste, to the underprivileged and homeless of Berlin. Each month they distribute 660 tons of food, reaching 125,000 people and each year they are able to help more and more people with the continuous expansion of their volunteer force.

With the help of participating supermarkets and social organizations/churches, achieves its aim by collecting left over food from supermarkets and bringing it to the wholesale food market, for volunteers to sort through and separate the 'good' from the 'spoilt'. The good food is then distributed to more than 300 organizations across Berlin to be prepared and served to disadvantaged people of all ages and backgrounds.
